# 伝統の礎の上に今日がある　～受賞者インタビュー

2014年にスティービー賞で評価していただきました「上方文化再生フォーラム」を今年も12月まで開催します。

これは上方芸能が発祥した大阪・ミナミの文化力を再生、維持させることを目的に、大阪の「財・官・民」と東洋一の演劇資料館を持つ早稲田大学が連携し、文化をより深く掘り下げて国内外にアピールしていく活動です。

2016年もTORII HALLは引き続き伝統文化のプラットフォームの役目を果したいと思っています。

同時に難病ポルフィリン症の患者さんと家族を支援する「さくらの会」の関西支部を立ち上げます。難病認定されたばかりで治療法もまだわからないのですが、ここに来て患者さんに経験や体験を語っていただくことで、私達も理解を深められますし、社会と隔絶されて孤独になるのを防ぐことができます。

**受賞その後**

大阪で発生し、ユネスコ文化遺産に登録されている文楽、歌舞伎などの文化をより深く掘り下げて国内外にアピールしていく上方文化再生フォーラムという活動をしていたおかげで、受賞式の少し前３月にフランスのパリで開かれたジャズコンサートに参加しました。その時にモンマルトルとミナミは繁華街かつ文化芸術の発信地であるなど共通点が多いという印象を持ち続けていたのですが、ついにパリとミナミ小学校で子供達のビデオレターの交換が始まりました。この交流の記念に文楽の公演をパリでという計画を立てています。

**フィリピンの小学校とも交流**

TORII HALLのある大阪ミナミはインターナショナルな地域で、近くの南小学校は１７０名の生徒の内４２％が外国籍の子供達で、１５の国にわたりますが、中でも一番多いのが３０数名を占めるフィリピンの子供です。

来年2016年は日本・フィリピン友好親善６０周年で、フィリピン領事館にもご協力いただき、3月30日にバターン半島の小学校で児童交流をします。

ソウルでの受賞パーティにフィリピンの方もいらっしゃったので「私は大阪でフィリピンの母子家庭の方々の支援をしています。」とお話しましたら「素晴らしい」と、言っていただいて、あの時感じたご縁が来年３月に実現しますので、そういう意味で良かったと思います。いずれはフィリピンの首都マニラでも交流の記念に文楽公演をしたいと思っています。

海外でも評価されている歌舞伎や文楽が出来上がった場所が道頓堀だということは、ここに住んでる人もお商売されてる方も意外に知らなかった話ですから、それを知ってもらうという意味で受賞は有効だったと思います。

**私の原動力**

大阪の観光名所の１つである道頓堀は１６１５年11月に完成していますので、今年がちょうど４００年にあたります。その開削工事で犠牲になった方の中にはキリスト教を棄教した方がおられた可能性もありますので、１１月１１日に神道と仏教とキリスト教と宗教の垣根をはずし、みんなで船に乗って、川に眠っておられる方のための合同慰霊祭を行います。ヨーロッパの方々を含む４００年の間に亡くなった人達の礎があって、そこで花咲いた文楽や歌舞伎などの文化があり、今日に繋がっているという思いです。

**プロフィール**

鳥居弘昌は大阪市生まれ。大阪千日前の老舗旅館「上方」の跡継ぎとして育ち、甲南大学卒業後、百貨店勤務を経て1989年株式会社鳥居ビル設立。1991年にビル完成と共に「TORII HALL」を開業しホール代表も兼任。1994年に得度。2012年真言宗山階派千日山弘昌寺を開山し住職となる。

上方ビルの4階にある100席の劇場でマイクを通さず生の声が響く広さで昔の寄席小屋の雰囲気を大切にしている。毎月1日に開催される「TORII寄席」は若手の落語家を育成する場にもなっている。演劇、音楽イベント、講座などに貸し出しもしている。[http://www.toriihall.com/](http://www.toriihall.com/)
