# 제1회 아시아-태평양 스티비상 신설 기념 스티비상 설립자, 마이클 갤러허 회장 방한

2월 13일, 스티비상(The Stevie® Awards)의 설립자 마이클 갤러허 회장이 방한했다. 전 세계 기업과 조직 및 임직원들의 성취를 격려하기 위해 창설된 스티비상에서 아시아-태평양 지역 22개 국가를 대상으로 하는 ‘제1회 아시아-태평양 스티비상’(Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards)을 신설하고, 아시아 지역과 소통하는 거점으로 서울을 선택했기 때문이다.

스티비상(Stevie® Awards, 미국 Washington D.C. 소재)은 **뉴욕 포스트에서 '비즈니스계의 오스카상(the business world's own Oscar Awards)'이라 칭한 세계적인 프리미엄 비즈니스 대상**을 운영하고 있으며, 2002년 미국 비즈니스 대상(American Business Awards)의 탄생과 함께 시작되었다. 현재 전 세계의 국가들을 대상으로 하는 국제 비즈니스 대상(The International Business Awards), 여성 기업인 스티비 대상(Stevie Awards for Women in Business), 영업 및 고객서비스 스티비 대상(Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service)을 성공적으로 운영하고 있다. 오는 5월 서울에서 새롭게 제정된 제1회 아시아-태평양 스티비상(Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards) 시상식을 개최할 예정이다.

스티비상에는 매년 **세계 60여 개국 200여명의 기업이나 조직의 대표, 임원 및 전문가인 심사위원들**이 수 개월에 걸쳐 심사에 참여하며, 심사위원으로 미국 비즈니스계의 거물 **도널드 트럼프(****Donald Trump)**, <네 안의 잠든 거인을 깨워라>의 저자 **토니 로빈스(Tony Robbins)** 그리고 런던 비즈니스스쿨 교수이자 글로벌 칼럼니스트 **개리 하멜(Gary Hammel)** 등이 참여한 바 있다.

마이클 갤러허 회장은 “변화하고 있는 아시아-태평양 지역에서 다양한 조직과 기업의 활동을 시장지향적이고 체계적으로 평가하여 치하하기 위해 아∙태스티비상을 창설하고, 아태지역 조직들이 영어가 아닌 자국어로 출품작을 작성, 제출, 평가할 수 있도록 했다”고 밝혔다. 또한 “비즈니스 분야에서 국제적인 대상을 받는 것은 조직의 브랜드를 형성하고, 가치를 올릴 수 있는 가장 효율적인 방법이자 임직원들의 수고에 대한 감사와 존경의 방법이기도 하다. 세계경제의 새로운 축으로 부상하고 있는 아시아-태평양 지역 대상의 아∙태스티비상이 놀라운 성취를 이뤄낸 아시아 지역의 기업들에 큰 자부심을 안겨줄 것”이라고 말했다.

**제1회 아시아-태평양 스티비상은 ****한국어, 영어, 중국어, 인도네시아어, 일본어, 말레이어, 태국어 7개 국어로 출품할 수 있으며, 18개 부문의 출품작을 접수**한다. 경쟁에 대한 심사는 2단계로 진행된다. 첫 번째 심사 단계에서는 각 부문별로 국가별 금상, 은상 및 동상 수상자를 결정한다. 이 수상자는 4월 1일에 발표된다. 모든 금상 수상자는 전체 아시아-태평양 지역에서 각 부문에 대한 대상으로 지명될 권리를 놓고 심사를 받는데, 이 스티비상 대상 수상자는 5월 시상식 연회에서 발표된다.

전체적인 출품일정은 아래와 같다.

스티비상의 트로피는 오스카상, 에미상, 클리오상 트로피를 제작한 RS오웬사가 만든 것으로 세계에서 가장 갖고 싶어하는 상 중의 하나이다.
