Entry Deadline Extension Announced for The Middle East & North Africa Stevie ® Awards

By popular demand, the Stevie Awards have announced a general entry deadline extension for the third annual Middle East & North Africa Stevie ® Awards, sponsored by RAK Chamber, UAE. Entries will now be accepted through February 17. 

The Middle East Stevie & North Africa Awards are the region’s only awards to recognize innovation in all its forms through the workplace. The awards are open to all organizations in 17 nations of the MENA region: Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

All individuals and organizations - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - may submit any number of nominations to any number of the categories.

There are no entry fees in this awards program. Organizations may submit as many nominations as they would like, without cost. Instead, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners can choose to pay a “winners fee” for each successful nomination.

Winners of the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Awards in the competition will be announced on March 24, 2022 and celebrated during a gala event in Ras Al Khaimah at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Friday, May 20.

The competition features two new category groups for 2022. The Video Awards categories recognize innovation in video productions including design, format, production, distribution, and/or interactivity. The Social Media Awards categories recognize innovation in social media content creation, moderation, management, and marketing. Virtual events have been newly added to the Events Categories.

Nominations citing innovative achievements will be accepted and judged in both Arabic and English, in more than 100 categories across the following category groups:

The Stevie® Awards have announced the Grand Stevie Award winners in the second annual Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards. The winners will be honored during a virtual award ceremony on 2 June.

The Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards, sponsored by the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, is an international business awards competition open to all organizations in 17 nations in the Middle East and North Africa. The focus of the awards is recognizing innovation in all its forms.

This year more than 400 nominations were considered in the judging process by more than 70 professionals, whose average ratings determined the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners announced last month. In addition to the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Awards, the top winner overall (total number of points conferred by total Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie wins) and the highest-scoring nominations are awarded the Grand Stevie Awards.

The two Grand Stevie Award winners are:

ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR: DP DHL: which earned 26.5 award points for the achievements of their affiliates in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The Germany-headquartered global logistics and transportation company is no stranger to the top honor in Stevie Awards competitions, having won numerous Organization of the Year honors in the German Stevie Awards, the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service, and other Stevie Awards programs.

HIGHEST-RATED NOMINATION OF THE YEAR: The “Stroke Golden Hour” nomination submitted by the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, in Dubai, received the highest average score from the judges (9.17 out of 10) in this year’s competition. The Gold Stevie winner for Excellence in Innovation in Government - Organizations with 100 or More Employees, the nomination describes the development of an IT solution that almost halved the “door to needle” treatment time for stroke victims at MOHAP facilities. One judge commented on the nomination, “A perfect example of an IT solution supporting a noble cause: reducing mortality and morbidity due to stroke. Using modern technologies like VR to assist patients is another welcome move.”

Stevie Award winners will be celebrated at a virtual awards ceremony on 2 June. Registration for the ceremony is ongoing.

First Annual Middle East Stevie Awards Winners Honored in Virtual Ceremony

The Middle East Stevie Awards, sponsored by the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce & Industry, is an international business awards competition open to all organizations in 17 nations in the Middle East and North Africa. The focus of the awards is recognizing innovation in all its forms.

For the past 18 years the Stevie awards programs have recognized excellence in business worldwide. Each year the eight Stevie awards competitions received more than 12,000 nominations from organizations of all types and sizes in more than 70 nations.

More than 500 nominations were reviewed in the Middle East Stevie Awards judging process this year by more than 90 professionals worldwide whose average scores determined the winners.

Two Grand (best of show) Stevie Awards were conferred:

  • Boehringer Ingelheim, Istanbul, Turkey, is the winner of the Grand Stevie for Organization of the Year.  The pharmaceutical giant’s six Gold, two Silver, and one Bronze Stevie wins are tops in the 2020 competition.
  • Dubai Health Authority’s nomination “Diagnostic & Prognostic liquid biopsy biomarkers for Asthma,” a Gold Stevie winner for Innovation in Medical/Dental, received the highest overall average score from the judges, of all nominations in the 2020 competition, and thus wins the Grand Stevie Award for Highest-Rated Nomination of the Year.

On August 25 winners were celebrated at a virtual Stevie Awards ceremony which was broadcast to winners and their guests. During the awards ceremony, the Stevie Awards shared videos about the award-winning organizations followed by acceptance speeches, messages from Stevie Awards judges, sponsors, and special guests.

Nashwa Al-Ruwaini gave the keynote speech to congratulate Stevie Award winners and appreciate their hard work over the past year, and especially over the past few months. Nashwa Al-Ruwaini is an Egyptian producer and media personality. She has been called the "Oprah Winfrey of the Arab World".

Al-Ruwaini told Stevie winners “Innovation prevails in times of crisis. The world we knew drastically changed overnight with the outbreak of COVID-19. Often in business, you need to come up with new tactics to preserve and maintain your vision. Companies, entrepreneurs, governments, and citizens have proved how capable humans are of innovating during times of crisis.”

It was announced during the ceremony that the 2021 awards will begin accepting nominations September 15, and it will do so with a new name. The new name of the competition will be the Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards, to better represent the 17 nations covered in the awards.

“We aimed to honor organizations and individuals across the region. This year we received more than 500 nominations, which is very impressive for our first-year event. We can’t wait to see what 2021 holds for the Middle East & North Africa Stevie Awards,” said Stevie Awards President Maggie Gallagher.

A German-based, family-owned company, Boehringer Ingelheim is considered one of the pharmaceutical industry’s top 20 companies. In the inaugural Middle East Stevie Awards, Boehringer Ingelheim will receive the Grand Stevie for Organization of the Year with 23.5 award points, earned for six Gold, two Silver, and one Bronze Stevie Award wins.

Dubai Health Authority’s nomination of diagnostic and prognostic liquid biopsy biomarkers for asthma was awarded the Gold Stevie Award for Innovation in Medical or Dental, and because it received the highest overall average score from the judges, of all nominations submitted in the 2020 competition, will also receive the Grand Stevie Award for Highest-Rated Nomination of the Year.

In the inaugural Middle East Stevie Awards, Dubai Health Authority won four Gold and one Silver Stevies for their Smart Home Care and Smart Health Professional licensing initiatives, as well as their innovative new approaches to early detection, diagnoses and treatments for asthma, sepsis, and childhood developmental disabilities. 

Dr. Younis Kazim, CEO of Dubai Healthcare Corporation from Dubai Health Authority commented, commented on the win by saying: “Dubai Health Authority are pleased to add a distinguished set of new prizes to its collection of prestigious international awards. Recognition with a Grand Stevie Award is the result of the great efforts made by the authority’s team to promote innovation and introduce smart services to facilitate the customer’s journey, and their continuous offering of improvement projects for services provided to individual or institutional clients.

Usually the two Grand Stevie Award winners are announced live at the award ceremony. However, due to the current development of the COVID19 pandemic, the Stevie Awards had to cancel the in-person award ceremony that was to take place on 21 March at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. A virtual Stevie Awards ceremony will instead be offered on 25 August, 2020 in which the winners of the first Middle East Stevie Awards will be honored.

"We were very sad that the award ceremony could not take place in Ras Al Khaimah. It's always a very special moment to present the award winners with their awards," said Maggie Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. "That's why we are all the more pleased that we can now offer the winners of the Middle East Stevie Awards 2020 a virtual award ceremony in which our Stevie Award winners may be recognized and celebrated from the safety of their homes and offices.”

The Trophies for all winners will be shipped before the 25 August Ceremony so the winners can have their red-carpet pictures and record their acceptance speech holding their trophies. Orders should be made before 1 July 2020.

Winners in the first Middle East Stevie® Awards, the only awards program to recognize innovation in the workplace throughout 17 nations in the Middle East and North Africa, were announced today.  The awards are sponsored by the RAK Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  The list of Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners is available at http://MENA.StevieAwards.com.

The 2020 Middle East Stevie Awards have recognized organizations in 12 markets including Bahrain, Egypt, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.  Several hundred nominations about innovative achievements in the MENA region were considered by the judges this year in categories such as Award for Excellence in Innovation in Products & Services, Award for Innovative Management, and Award for Innovation in Corporate Websites, among many others.

More than 70 executives around the world participated on four juries to determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners.

HR Revolution Middle East Magazine Named as Media Partner for 2020 Middle East Stevie® Awards and Stevie Awards for Great Employers

The Stevie Awards, organizer of the world’s premier business awards programs, has announced that HR Revolution Middle East Magazine will serve as a media partner for the 2020 Middle East Stevie Awards and the Stevie Awards for Great Employers.

HR Revolution Middle East Magazine is described as an honest reflection of the Middle Eastern business environment through its use of clear case studies, articles, and interviews professionally served to readers around the world. The organization’s mission is to improve and have a powerful impact on human resources processes in the Middle East by providing the proper resources. HR Revolution will be covering all aspects of both Stevie Awards ceremonies in 2020.

Entry Deadline Extension Announced for Middle East Stevie® Awards

Newest Stevie Awards program recognizing innovation in 17 countries in Middle East and North Africa is now accepting entries through January 22

By popular demand, the Stevie Awards have announced a general entry deadline extension for its new Middle East Stevie Awards sponsored by RAK Chamber, UAE. The original final entry deadline was December 4. Entries will now be accepted through January 22.

All organizations operating in 17 nations in the Middle East and North Africa are eligible to submit nominations to the 2020 Middle East Stevie Awards. The awards will recognize innovative achievements since July 1, 2018. Complete information about the awards process is available at https://MENA.StevieAwards.com.

Nominations will be accepted and judged in Arabic and English from organizations of all types—large and small, for-profit and non-profit, publicly-held and privately-held—in more than 200 categories. Organizations may submit as many nominations as they’d like in these categories, at no cost. Categories are available across the following groups:

Judging for the competition will be conducted by professionals around the world who will determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award winners in each category. Those winners will be announced the week of February 19. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie winners will be honored, and Grand Stevie Award winners announced, at a gala awards banquet at the Waldorf Astoria in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates on Saturday, March 21.

Instead of charging an entry fee for each nomination submitted, as many awards programs do, the competition will impose a winner’s fee on each Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie-winning nomination. Payment of the winner’s fee will unlock the many benefits of being a Stevie winner, including the right to publicly claim the recognition, a Stevie Award trophy, the right to use the winner’s seal, and more.

Hundreds of organizations across the MENA region have been recognized in Stevie Awards programs over the years, including ASDA'A BCW in United Arab Emirates, CarrefourSA in Turkey, DHL Express in Qatar, Gulf Bank in Kuwait, and Ooredoo in Oman, among many other prominent winners.
