Finance is the dominant industrial sector among the British Finalists in this year’s Stevie Awards for Women in Business, with four of the 10 UK nominees working in City-related businesses.
The major international award for business women, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business recognise excellence among women entrepreneurs, executives and women-led organisations. Notable Finalists this year include Marjorie Scardino, CEO of Pearson plc, owners of the UK’s leading financial newspaper, the Financial Times. She is up against fellow UK CEO, Cynthia Carrol of Anglo-American and nine others for the title of Best Executive in EMEA.
Best Entrepreneur finalist, one of only three, is Katie Small, MD of financial services company, Mercury West Associates. Women in the City, founded by Gwen Rhys (pictured) is one of four finalists in the Women Supporting Women category.
The other six of the 10 UK Women in Business finalists (in 9 categories) are TopLine (in two communications categories), Deborah Mitchell of Heaven, Rebecca Lane of Epitome Health & Beauty, Eve Morris of CoSkill, and Chris Holly of Chris Holly Consulting. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in New York on November 11 - tickets are now on sale.
