Stevie Awards for Women in Business Announce Final Judging Chairs

The Stevie Awards are delighted to announce the  five distinguished women who will chair the final judging committees of the 2015 (12th annual) Stevie Awards for Women in Business competition.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world's top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees, and the organizations they run.

Finalists in this year's Stevie Awards for Women in Business will be announced on
October 7.  Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie placements from among the Finalists will be determined in final judging, to begin in late October.  Results will be announced at the 12th annual awards dinner in New York on November 13.  Tickets will go on sale October 7.

The five committee chair selections are based on the categories that will be judged. Final judging chairs helped to form their committees, each of which will be comprised of 10-20 other executives.  Here are this year's final judging committee chairs.

INDIVIDUAL/EXECUTIVE

Elizabeth Schillo, Senior Vice President, Sales
Dice, New York, New York, USA

15-WIB-EXEC-ChairElizabeth Schillo serves as Senior Vice President for Dice and Clearance Jobs, leading all North American sales channels. She oversees account management, new business sales, customer-centric sales communication, sales training, new product sales, and strategic partnerships for business development to generate annual results of over $130M.

Prior to Dice, she held sales leadership roles with CareerBuilder, Ann Taylor, and McKesson Information Systems. Over the past thirteen years, Elizabeth has demonstrated her ability to lead multi-channel sales teams and to drive results. Her passion for training, leadership, and serving customers has enabled her teams to develop strong customer relationships.

Elizabeth holds an MA from Wheaton College and a BA in Communication and Psychology from Lee University.

Amber Olson Rourke, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer

As a member of the core executive team, Amber helped set and execute the strategy that led Nerium to be the youngest company ever to earn a place on the Direct Selling News Global 100 List in 2013, as well as receiving the prestigious Bravo Growth Award from Direct Selling News for hitting $100 million in sales during its first full year of business. Before joining LL&C, María worked for USP Hospitals as Corporate Director of Marketing and Communications, going on to be made a partner and member of the Executive Committee, and where she set up the CSR Department and the Alex Foundation. Prior to that, she spent five years at communications consultancy Gené & Asociados in Barcelona, representing institutional clients such as the Regional Government of Catalonia, the Government of Andorra, and F.C. Barcelona, amongst others.

Katrinka McCallum, Vice President of Products & Technologies Operations
Red Hat, Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Her team provides the operational backbone for Red Hat's product and technology operations, enhancing the development, commercialization, and lifecycle management of the company’s offerings. In addition to ensuring the business units are able to make data driven decisions, she is responsible for engineering operations that ensure development teams have the infrastructure & tools needed to deliver products. She is also responsible for the site management of Red Hat’s R&D facilities in Australia, China, Czech Republic, India, and Israel.

Katrinka describes her career path like a mosaic: up close it may not be clear, yet stepping back it’s a beautiful piece of art. Katrinka has led operations for publicly-traded companies where she has had a variety of responsibilities, including sales, marketing, technical support, product development, IT, HR, finance, operations, and the running of entire business units. She leverages her Wellesley and Duke education, as well as her CPA, as foundational elements for a solid footing in how to ask the types of questions that lead teams in the right direction.

That's the link to the main mobile site, from which you can navigate to any of our individual awards program sites. 

Here's a rundown of the main features of the mobile sites.

On the main mobile website you'll find a consolidated calendar of all important dates for all of the Stevie Awards programs. 

On each of the individual awards program sites, you'll find a calendar with important dates for only that particular awards program, such as the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service.

In many cases you'll be able to link directly from a menu item to a page of interest.

Participate Menu

Participate-MenuEvery page on every one of our mobile sites now features a Participate Menu in the lower lefthand corner of the screen.  Open the Participate Menu to find links to pages about how to participate in Stevie Awards programs, including how to be a judge, how to get the entry kit, how to schedule text-message reminders about the entry deadlines, and more.

The Participate Menu on the main Stevies mobile site enables you to perform these functions for more than one Stevie Awards program at a time.  On the individual program sites, you can perform these functions just for that individual awards programs.

If you complete the form on one of our individual awards program sites, you'll get the entry kit for just that particular awards program.

This is a brand-new feature that we've introduced with the new mobile sites that we're very excited about.

Now you can subscribe to receive text-message reminders six days in advance of all of the entry deadlines for a particular Stevie Awards programs.

If you subcribe to this feature on the main mobile site, you'll have the option to opt-in to text message reminders about the entry deadlines for any or all of the Stevie Awards programs.

If you subscribe on any of the individual awards program sites, you'll opt-in only for the reminders about the deadlines for that particular program. 

Give this new feature a try.  If you decide that you'd like to opt-out of receiving text-message reminders, that will be easy to do.  Each time you receive a text message from us you'll also receive an opt-out link.

What Else Can I Do? Menu

What-Else-MenuFinally, the mobile homepage for each of our individual awards programs features a What Else Can I Do? Menu.

Many of these links you'll also find in the Participate Menu on each of our program sites.  But this menu is another easy way to access many of the functions and features our entrants and judges want to see on our sites.

So what can't you do on our new mobile websites?

You can't submit entries through the new Stevie Awards mobile websites, you can't (yet) apply to be a judge, and you can't (yet) perform judging.  Those functions will continue to be exclusive to our desktop websites, at www.StevieAwards.com.  Most tablet devices will continue to direct to our desktop sites rather than the new mobile sites, so you can always submit your entries and perform judging from a tablet, if you're on the go.

Speaking of our desktop sites, they're up next on the renovation agenda.  Look for our new-and-improved desktop sites to go live in January 2016.

Who's Coming to The American Business Awards This Friday?

This Friday, September 11, the new product and technology awards banquet of The 2015 American Business Awards, the top honors in business in the U.S.A., will be staged at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco's historic Merchants Exchange Building.  Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie® Award winners in categories for apps, new products and services, and the management of technology-industry companies will be presented.

Also to be announced are the top overall honors in this year's ABAs: the Grand Stevie Award winners, for Organization of the Year, Interactive Agency of the Year, Marketing Agency of the Year, Public Relations Agency of the Year, and the Top 10.  Grand Stevie Award winners have been determined by the total number of awards won in the ABAs this year, including those to be announced this Friday and those announced in Chicago this past June.

The presentations will be taped for broadcast by BizTalkRadio at 8:00 pm ET on Tuesday, September 15.  Download the BizTalkRadio smartphone app to listen in!  Available for iOS and Android.

Listen to the Women in Business Awards Live This Friday

The 11th annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, the world's top honors for women entrepreneurs, executives, employees, and the organizations they run, will be presented this Friday, November 14 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York.  More than 400 women and their guests from around the world will attend.

SAWIB13winnerThe presentations will be broadcast live across the U.S.A., and simulcast worldwide via the web, by Biz Talk Radio, from 7:30 pm eastern time on Friday.  Listen in and follow along with a copy of the awards dinner's official program book.

Schedule Changed for 2015 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards

We have changed the schedule for the 2015 (second annual) Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, the top business awards program for the region.

APSA14 award presentationIt has come to our attention that updates that were supposed to have been made to the website at http://Asia.StevieAwards.com before the opening of the awards last month were not made. It will take us about two weeks now to update the website fully. Therefore we are changing the schedule.

The early-bird entry deadline with discounted entry fees, originally published as November 12, has been changed to December 3. Review the complete revised calendar for the 2015 awards. The awards are open to all organizations operating in the 22 nations of the Asia-Pacific region.

REVIEW THE ENTRY KIT HERE.

We expect the website to be ready to accept your entries the week of 17 November. You may submit your 2015 entries anytime after that date.

We have added many new categories to the awards, including marketing awards, PR awards, new product awards, HR awards, and more. Explore them all here.

The website at http://Asia.StevieAwards.com is available in, and entries may be submitted in, seven languages: Chinese, English, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malay and Thai.

Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service Issues Call for Entries

The Stevie® Awards, organizer of the world’s premier business awards programs, has issued a call for entries for the 2015 (9th annual) Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service

All customer service, contact center, business development, and sales departments, teams and professionals worldwide are eligible to be nominated, in addition to new products and services used by those professionals. The 2015 awards will recognize achievements since July 1, 2013.

The entry deadline is November 19, but late entries will be accepted through January 13 with payment of a late fee. Winners of the ninth annual competition will be announced at a gala awards banquet on February 27 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

The 2015 program offers new categories for business development professionals including Business Development Executive of the Year, Business Development Professional of the Year (for non-executive professionals), and Business Development Achievement of the Year.

The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service feature more than 135 sales awards, customer service awards, business development awards, new product awards, and call center awards categories. Entrants may submit any number of nominations to any number of categories, which include:

  •     Sales Individual categories such as Senior Sales Executive of the Year and Sales Operations Professional of the Year
  •     Sales Team categories like Global Sales Team of the Year and Field Sales Team of the Year
  •     Sales Achievement categories such as Sales Turnaround of the Year and Outbound Marketing Program of the Year
  •     Sales Department of the Year categories in 13 industry groupings
  •     Customer Service and Contact Center Individual categories such as Front-Line Customer Service Professional of the Year and Customer Service Leader of the Year
  •     Customer Service and Contact Center Team categories like Contact Center of the Year and Customer Service Management Team of the Year
  •     Customer Service and Contact Center Achievement categories such as e-Commerce Customer Service Award and Award for Innovation in Customer Service
  •     Customer Service Department categories in 11 industry groupings
  •     New Product and Service categories like Best New Business Intelligence Solution and Best New Relationship Management Solution
  •     Solution Provider categories such as Sales Consulting Practice of the Year and Incentive, Rewards, or Recognition Provider of the Year

2015 will see the return of a popular feature of the Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service. All Finalists in the Customer Service Department of the Year categories will be included in the People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite Customer Service voting.

Herzlich willkommen, as we say in Germany,” was his response. “We regularly participate in the international edition of the Stevies and our company and innovations have received several awards. We are therefore really happy that the Stevie Awards have now launched a competition specifically for the German market.”

“German companies are acting more and more internationally,” Harald added. “The German Stevie Awards might help to deepen our global mindset. At the same time, I think it’s great that German business achievements are going to be recognized through these new Awards, and that German innovations and product highlights will get the visibility they deserve.”

Delivering Added Value

We asked Harald if he had any advice for companies thinking of doing business in Germany.

“The starting point has to be a valid business model–and that applies to Germany companies, too.” Harald told us. “In Germany, careful and thorough planning is of great importance. Plans and concepts should be developed very thoroughly, with a special eye on the details. There is a great demand in Germany for professionalism and for delivering added value. And, of course, reliability is a must.”

Harald also gave us some tips on a few of the apps and blogs that he finds most useful in the workplace.

Five Distinguished Women to Lead Women in Business Awards Final Judging

The Stevie Awards are delighted to announce the names of the five distinguished women who will chair the final judging committees of the 2014 (11th annual) Stevie Awards for Women in Business competition.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world's top business awards program for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees, and the organizations they run.

Finalists in this year's Stevie Awards for Women in Business were announced last week.  Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie placements from among the Finalists will be determined in final judging, to begin next week.  Results will be announced at the 11th annual awards dinner in New York on November 14.  Tickets are now on sale.

The five committee chair selections are based on the categories that will be judged. Final judging chairs helped to form their committees, each of which will be comprised of 10-20 other executives.  Here are this year's final judging committee chairs.

Having spent a decade as account director and senior consultant at one of Sweden´s largest PR-firms, she founded Rippler eight years ago together with a female former colleague. From the first year of operations, Katrin and Rippler have earned numerous awards in SPINN—the Swedish equivalent of the IPRA Golden Awards—for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients. Last year, though, was the first year Rippler entered any international competitions and as a result Katrin won the Gold Stevie® Award for Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Public Affairs and Public Service with “For a more humane city” – displaying homelessness through a nationally covered photo campaign. The campaign “For a humane city” was also selected as one of the winners in IPRA last year.

Katrin and her Rippler co-founder have also started an informal network for women, meeting twice a year to help promote other women in business.

Finalists were announced today in the 11th Annual Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, the world’s top honors for women entrepreneurs, executives, employees, and the organizations they run.
