Stevie® Awards는 세계 최고의 비즈니스 시상 대회인 2013 (제 10 회) International Business Awards에서 Best of the IBA Awards 의 수상자를 발표했다.

5月2日、最終打合せのために来日したマイケルと、株式会社経営塾社長であり、「月刊BOSS」主幹の関慎夫氏とミーティングが持たれ、正式に「月刊BOSS」が公式メディアになることが決定しました。

日本では、アワードへの応募がなかなか上司にわかってもらえない、という声がいままでも多数あったのですが、これで少し状況が改善されるのではないかと思います。

なぜなら、25周年を迎えた歴史のある経済誌が公式メディアとなることで、説得材料ができたと思うからです。

また、日本の閉塞感ある社会状況、経済環境にとっても、海外企業の情報がプラスになるのではないかと考えています。

本件については、1か月後くらいにプレスカンファレンスを行う予定となっています。

ちなみに、今回マイケルから面白い話を聞きました。

１．スティービーアワードは世界最大のビジネスアワードに成長している
昨年の実績では、6000件の応募が、60の国と地域からありました。
毎年140%の成長率だそうで、マイケルは”huge tax”を払ったのだとか。

２．UAEでの受賞式が大変だった
現地でのコミュニケーションが全くとれず、バタバタだった様子を聞きました。

３．アメリカ人のソーダはコーラ
先日、マイケルと会ったとき、朝なのにコカコーラの500mlペットボトルを持っていたので、実は驚いた、と話したら、アメリカ人にとってソーダは当然で、コーラはソーダとイコールだ、とのこと。
昨日、お嬢さんがアメリカで4番目に優秀な大学を卒業したマイケルですが、コーラをやめる気はないそうです。2年前からベジタリアンなのに。
